🎄A Magical New Year’s Eve🐱

It was New Year's Eve, and Lily sat by the window, watching the snow fall. Her cat, Whiskers, sat next to her. The house was quiet. Too quiet.

Lily's family had just moved to this town. They hadn't unpacked everything yet, and the living room only had a small tree with a few lights. No decorations, no festive table.

Lily sighed. "I wish something exciting would happen," she whispered.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Lily opened it and saw a woman and two children holding a large, colorful box and a basket full of cookies and treats.

"Hello," the woman said warmly. "I'm Mrs. Carter, your neighbor. We wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood."

Lily's parents joined her at the door. "That's very kind of you. Please come in," her mom said.

The Carters stepped inside, and Whiskers jumped up to greet them. "Your cat likes us!" one of the children laughed.

They placed the box and the basket on the table. "This is our family tradition," Mrs. Carter explained. "It's a wish box. Every year, we write down our wishes for the New Year and place them inside. We also bring some treats to share. Would you like to try?"

Lily's dad smiled. "We’d love to."

They all sat by the fire, eating cookies, drinking hot chocolate, and writing wishes on small pieces of paper. Lily's little brother drew a picture instead. One by one, they placed their wishes in the box.

As the clock neared midnight, Mrs. Carter whispered, "Now, we wait. When the clock strikes twelve, everyone will put their wish in at the same time."

Lily closed her eyes. "I wish for more adventures and new friends."

When midnight arrived, they all dropped their papers into the box. Instantly, the box glowed softly with a gentle, warm light. Whiskers purred loudly, and the snow outside seemed to sparkle brighter.

"Happy New Year!" they all said together, laughing and hugging.

Outside, the snow kept falling, but inside, the house felt warm and full of magic.

4. Memorize part of the story (for example, the moment with the wish box). Запомните часть рассказа (например, момент с коробкой желаний).
